Kyra advises nonprofit organizations to help them catalyze positive social impact by driving team management, systems, operational support, and fundraising efforts. Kyra’s greatest strengths are her significant experience with and enthusiasm for venture development and social entrepreneurship, as reflected in her ability to translate muddled start-up ideas into viable market opportunities.
Kyra’s interest in becoming a leader who can create positive social change took root at Claremont McKenna College, where she led a coalition of students to cultivate an ecosystem for social innovation and social entrepreneurship. Kyra supported key stakeholders in the College’s changemaking strategy, which ultimately led to Claremont McKenna’s designation as an Ashoka U Changemaker Campus in October 2014. Shortly after, Kyra joined the Ashoka U team as a Community Management intern, supporting logistics for the 2016 Ashoka U Exchange, Ashoka U’s annual convening of leading social innovators in higher education. Kyra then joined America Forward, the nonpartisan policy arm of venture philanthropy firm New Profit, where she supports America Forward’s community of entrepreneurs in driving the national dialogue on social innovation and advocating for lasting policy change. Kyra is currently an INVANTI Fellow in South Bend, IN.
Kyra comes to SODI with a passion for collaboration, believing that cross-sector partnerships have the power to achieve innovative solutions that single sectors cannot realize alone. As a consultant for SODI, Kyra supports the initiative’s communications strategy, fundraising, and project management for convenings.
